Case Study
Army City
19th century military site, Fort Riley, Kansas
The Army City site is an historic 19th and early
20th century military site located on Fort Riley in central Kansas.
An electrical resistivity survey was conducted over 22 hectares
of the site. The figure shows details of architectural features
in a 1.4 hectare subset of the geophysical data. An RM 15 resistance
meter was used at a sample density of two readings per square
meter and a probe spacing of 0.5 meters. A non-linear high pass
filter was used to eliminate resistance variations associated
with the geologic "background". Numerous historic features and
site patterning are clearly visible.
